Fear can be one of the most paralyzing influences in our lives. This powerful emotion can override rational thought, habitual behavior, and even virtually subconscious mind processes. Fear can halt us in our tracks, impede further progress, or even prevent us from taking the first step in a new direction.
Can you afford to allow fear to influence your business decisions? Think about the last three major decisions you made; then, honestly examine what inspired you to make those decisions. Were there any emotions involved? Was fear one of them? Think about the past few days or weeks. What decisions have you avoided, procrastinated, or perhaps found a way to escape altogether? Were there any emotions involved? Was fear one of them?
Business owners experience fear. Successful business owners make conscious choices about how much they will allow emotions to influence their decision-making process. They handle their fear (and other emotions) in such a way that will channel the power of these emotions into positive, productive action instead of allowing the emotion to override their mental systems and become an obstacle to their success.
Don't let fear be the reason that you don't take action.

Be the Powerhouse
Monday was a day of anticipation; countless people had spent weeks fretting over whether the 41-year hold of the Progressive Conservative Party over the government of the province of Alberta, Canada would finally be broken. The Wildrose Party had put up an immense battle, and everyone wondered if it would be enough. The pollsters said it was. But in the end, it wasn't - Premier Alison Redford kept her place.
In an interesting editorial in The Montreal Gazette, the following statement appears:
Alberta is moving toward a bright future. Hundreds of business owners comprise the economic force that is driving our province and our nation towards sustainable success. Join the many that have taken every advantage to step above the rest - talk to an ActionCOACH Business Coach today.
In an interesting editorial in The Montreal Gazette, the following statement appears:
Redford’s victory signals a potential new era in provincial-federal relations. Alberta is the country’s economic powerhouse. Its petro wealth is the motor driving a westward shift in Canada’s population and economic centre of gravity. What happens in Alberta today matters to the rest of the country in a way that wasn’t the case a couple of decades ago.

Is your company a powerhouse within your industry? Do you have the mindset to lead your business as it becomes an "economic centre of gravity?" Have you ever been described as a "moving force?"

To Be or Not To Be
Take the pains required to become what you want to become, or you might end up becoming something you’d rather not be. --Donald Trump
Look around you. Is this where you imagined yourself ten years ago? Is this the house, the family, the car, the lifestyle you had in mind? If so, congratulations! If not, why not? Where did you turn aside from the things that mattered to you and made concessions that have led you to where you are today? Because contrary to a popular belief that life just happens and we ride the waves as they come, where you are today is largely a product of your own choices. Perhaps your priorities changed; maybe an unanticipated life-altering event occurred that was completely beyond your control; perhaps you simply decided that what you originally wanted isn't what you really wanted. The reasons aren't essential at this point. What is essential is that you take a pitstop on the road of life to decide if where you're headed is where you want to go. Let's take a lesson from an old childhood classic - Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland:

The reasons aren't essential at this point. What is essential is that you take a pitstop on the road of life to decide if where you're headed is where you want to go. Let's take a lesson from an old childhood classic - Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland:
"Cheshire-Puss," she began, rather timidly, as she did not at all know whether it would like the name: however, it only grinned a little wider.
"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where---" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.
"---So long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if you only walk long enough."We can all keep on walking, but someday we may discover ourselves in a place we never intended to be. It's time to discover the power of goal-setting. At ActionCOACH we believe in setting a course, evaluating progress, and ensuring we are moving in a positive direction. Where you are right now is your starting point. Where you want to be is your end point. It's time to plot the course that will get you there. Start building your dreams. Start reaching for those goals. This life is the only life you've got - the only chance at success. Learn why planning is so important, and then put that knowledge into action. It's time to live that dream and be that person. If you don't do it now, when will you do it?
